November 8, Chinese Iron & Steel Association released the second list of Carbon Peaking & Carbon Neutralization Showpiece Plants. HBIS Wusteel, Hansteel Hanbao, Hansteel Nengjia, Dahe Chemistry Tangshan Jiahua, Dahe Chemistry Hansteel Huafeng, won their positions. In total, seven HBIS projects have won the titles and positions of Carbon Peaking & Carbon Neutralization Showpiece Project, covering all major processes of steel production.

HBIS has been firmly implementing Xi Jinping Thoughts on Eco-Civilization and taking responsibilities as a SOE. Green and Low Carbon development has been in the core of its development strategy and operation. Green Manufacturing and Manufacturing Green have given the group more energy and diversified opportunities. HBIS has become a leading player in the low carbon and green reform of steel industry. Covering all major processes of steel production, HBIS Three Major Retrofit Projects have made its efficiencies to an extreme level, implementing Harmonious Existence of Human, Steel and Environment.

Extreme Energy Efficiency is third innovative project promoted by Chinese Iron & Steel Association after Production Replacement Project and Super Low Emission Project. To reach more in the industry and improve the efficiencies, The Association launched its second list of Carbon Peaking & Carbon Neutralization Showpiece Plants to help more enterprises in July, 2023. After procedures of applications and expert review, in total, 37 projects won their positions to get assistance to improve their performances.
